#bookaday Day 13: Nostalgic Reads

Black Beauty (Scholastic Classics) - Anna Sewell

I loved this book as a little girl. I would reread this and books about Misty of Chincoteague over and over again. When I read Black Beauty as an adult, I got much richer meaning out of it. Rather than simply seeing a horse and its life, I was able to gather the deeper theme of the importance of how we treat others, whether they be man or beast.
