#bookaday Day 16: Epic Adventure

A King's Ransom by Penman, Sharon Kay (2014) Hardcover - Sharon Kay Penman

I like my fiction to be heavy in historic detail, which is why I love Sharon Kay Penman's brilliant writing. In A King's Ransom, she brings England's Richard I to life, from his adventure on crusade (covered in Lionheart) through his perilous journey home, including year long imprisonment while the rulers of Europe argued over him. The reader follows Richard to his end, which though known still made me cry buckets.

Upon creating this post, I realized that I must have failed to post my review of King's Ransom on Booklikes. That problem has been rectified, and it can be found here.
