I almost passed on Quinn's duology featuring Giulia Farnese of Borgia fame. Why? I read a couple reviews that made references to the descriptions of food: preparation, smells, tastes....I mean, I like food but this didn't seem like my kind of thing.
I was completely wrong.
Don't let those romantic covers fool you. These books are fantastically captivating, causing me to ignore all else to read them. They also made me quite hungry for some authentic Italian cuisine. For more, see my reviews:
